Dicor Roof Questions

For a 30 foot RV, this one costs around $4000+. I had an appointment to have it done but had to get a new refrigerator instead so put it off for a while. This is a different product and procedure, but somewhat similar to the one you are investigating. I suspect that one would be in the #3000+ range for a 30 foot RV.

I think the one I linked takes all the roof equipment off and replaces all the vents, refrigerator vent, etc. with new. They also remove the air conditioner to do the roof. The end result seems to be about the same however.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a properly installed rubber roof that is inspected periodically. That being said, if you want to replace your roof you can look into the Rhino Lining spray system to cover your roof. Also, search for edatlanta on this forum. He got a spray on product installed on his camper and is VERY happy with the end result. I think he used www.rvroof.com

I think a metal roof will be a nightmare to install and seal properly, will add a lot of weight and incur a lot of cost or man-hours of labor to install. A spray on application is likely going to be cheaper, have a warranty, not require any (or at least only minimal) maintenance and look better.

I had problems with this roof since day one (leaks). in the same spot. they originally fixed it under warranty, but once again I am having problems. I am liking the spray on stuff some suggested. I might just repair it for now, but long term go with the long term solution of the spray on idea.

Instead of relying on WAGs here on the forum from those of us who most likely haven't had to deal with this issue ourselves wouldn't it make more sense to contact Dicor and ask for their recommendations for repair? Why replace a perfectly good EPDM roof membrane with metal if the rubber can be effectively repaired? :h

If you think the roof cannot be repaired at a reasonable cost I would look at having the rubber roof removed and a Rhino Liner roof spray on in its place.
