- mikestockExplorerTo OP: If you can find a used DISH 1000.2(preferred) or 1000.4 I can tell you how to modify for SL3 LNB. The 1000.2 is 26" wide, small mount and much lighter compared to the large Slimline which is 32".

I just got the new, larger dish. I seperated the arm from the dish and in the process if rigging straps to store it against the top of the front compartment of the fiver. We don't use it on every trip, so don't want to store it inside or have it take up room in the basement.
I want your old dish...the smaller one....for my trailer....
It's yours, especially since the new one I got is the one you gave me. We will drop it off this weekend. You want the tripod too?
Yes PLEASE....we have nothing right now for the trailer - CentralCoastCamExplorer

Exactly what I did except added a latch to the arm to hold in place when in use. Not sure the latch was required, just did it while modifying the arm. - RoyBExplorer III leave all of my SAT STUFF at home now since the Natl Broadcast came out ith digital TV. We get 6-36 of the local stations from the local towns just about everywhere we go here on the East side of the US using our OTA BATWING antenna. This is full blown high def HDTV and is free to the public.
If we want to watch some of the cable stations like on SAT TV we downstream them over the internet.
Mostly we watch NCIS and CSI anyway... I also love the always available LOCAL RADAR the local towns put out. Most valuable info running the roads in my off-road POPUP...

- mobeewanExplorerI carry mine on the top bunk, but had also thought about hinging the boom like hershey did. Also thinking about a second hinge on the opposite side of the boom with the pin removed so I can use a hitch hair pin to hold it from flipping up and down in the wind.

- hersheyExplorerI placed a hinge right at the bottom of the dish on the arm. Then I sawed through the arm and the hinge now lets the arm flip up and fits inside the dish, kinda. The LNB is just stuck in the end of the arm, don't use any bolts to hold it in place. The post slips out of the dish and the whole assembly takes little space in a bay with the arm folded in.
