- rockylarsonExplorerI drilled out all of the welds that held it rigid and awkward to store. Replaced them with bolts and wingnuts so it could be taken apart and stored mostly flat. The three pieces are stored under the bed. Dish and its 4 bolts, LNB with short cable and its arm with bolts/wingnuts, and mounting bracket.
BTW, I mount the dish on one of the following:
Fence Post Spike
A short piece of 4x4 held in place by a screw and drilled to match the bracket holes completed the project. It is easy to pound in and remove and extremely stable.
Good Luck. - buc1980ExplorerI store mine in the outside storage.I disassemble the 4 bolts dish.
- thgoodmanExplorerI carry mine around in the back of the tow'd. Remove the 4 bolts that hold the dish and arm together. All the pieces will lay pretty flat like that. Easy to reassemble and I haven't noticed any degradation in signal strength or difficulty finding the satellites.

X2 - hersheyExplorerI placed a hinge right at the bottom of the dish on the arm. Then I sawed through the arm and the hinge now lets the arm flip up and fits inside the dish, kinda. The LNB is just stuck in the end of the arm, don't use any bolts to hold it in place. The post slips out of the dish and the whole assembly takes little space in a bay with the arm folded in.
- lonestar68ExplorerI have been looking at using one of my extra mounts and poles and mounting it to the rear bumper of the TT so that the dish can be transported there. Hershey I like the idea of hinging the LNB arm. Have you got any pics? I would like to see your setup.
- mobeewanExplorerI carry mine on the top bunk, but had also thought about hinging the boom like hershey did. Also thinking about a second hinge on the opposite side of the boom with the pin removed so I can use a hitch hair pin to hold it from flipping up and down in the wind.
- CentralCoastCamExplorerI just got the new, larger dish. I seperated the arm from the dish and in the process if rigging straps to store it against the top of the front compartment of the fiver. We don't use it on every trip, so don't want to store it inside or have it take up room in the basement.
