dometic Fridge repair

hi, this is a long shot, but wondering if you know what hinge kit you got for this repair... the plastic hole on the freezer door, where the hinge pin is inserted, cracked on my door and i can't figure out how to repair. thanks!

  • ok just to clarify, is it the insert (bushing) that goes into the hole that is worn out/cracked and allowing the door to sag, or is it the actual hinge that is cracked.  if it is the hinge  like Ramblin Reflect came up with in a google search is what you want, if it is just the plastic insert bushings that's worn out you can get new kits to fix them also (I have to do my freezer door this winter and I did my refrigerator door two seasons ago.

once again you need to know your refrigerator make and model then a simple search or call to a rv parts store will get you what you need.  in the mean time a couple strategically sized and placed washers can get you by in a pinch to level out the door, until you get the proper parts, if that is the issue.

here is the insert bushing so you can compare https://getrvparts.com/dometic-2931171066-refrigerator-door-hinge-bushing/

Thanks for the reply! Not sure if you can see but the part that’s broken is the plastic hinge hole that the pin fits into. It seems like it’s part of the door frame, but I see places with screws so I thought maybe this could be swapped out.

however, after searching around it doesn’t seem like that’s a part for sale.

      this is a dometic RM2862

  • Hi KitKat. I guess it would be helpful to know which refrigerator you have. You can still look for hinge replacement kits. This is just a link to a repair kit that I found by doing a cursory google search. I’m not sure it’s what you need but it might point you in the right direction.

and depending on where you’re located or they do also have Mail order you might try an RV surplus supplier. A couple I’d suggest would be Bontragers surplus  or Johnson surplus they are both located in Michigan. Bontragers is always my first option for hard to find parts.
