Mike, it is good to know you made some progress. On the ignitor location, I had some trouble getting the optimum location too, so I finally held it in my hand while my wife pushed the pilot knob and the ignitor button. Then I just moved it around until I found a spot that consistently lit the gas. Once I knew that I figured out how to mount it.
