- yatyas81ExplorerLowes has them in their electric dept. They're used to hang conduit from I-beams.
- prowlerregalExploreryatyas81 where did you buy the reversible beam clamps?Would home depot or lowes carry these? Can you post a picture or two of your install? Thanks!
- yatyas81ExplorerI used reversible beam clamps to attach mine ($1.99 ea). They clamp on to the frame and have a threaded hole to attach a bolt. 4 clamps, some all thread, nuts and washers and 2 pieces of pre-drilled flat stock holds it in place. The best part is you can easily relocate it if you need to by moving the clamps.
- JJnLillyExplorerMy installation is much like goducks except I used aluminum instead of angle iron. Think I used 1/4" threaded rod and aircraft nuts to hold everything together.
- johnwalkerpa1ExplorerI used threaded rod with plates and lock nuts, top of the frame and bottom of the fence post. just make sure you don't over-tighten as you can crack or crush the fence post (don't ask me how I know!!) I used 1/2 inch rod which is overkill but I already had it laying around..
- goducks10ExplorerI just used a piece of angle iron with two long bolts. I had to use some 1-1/2" or so sq tubing as a spacer so I'd clear the gas line.
- rhagfoExplorer IIIWell I just made hangers out of 1" strap steel from HD or Lowes can't remember for sure.
Sorry the picture isn't great. - Gene_GinnyExplorerMy bumper has the spare tire mounted on it using large U-bolts so the square fence post will not sit tight to the bumper. I put a 3/4 inch wood block on each end of the bumper and bolted through the fence post and bumper with these:
Button-Head Stainless Steel Allen-Drive Socket Cap Screw
and - Brad Hole Tee Nut
That leaves a smooth surface inside the fence post and inside the bumper. - NagrompjExplorer
It doesn't show very well in the picture but I welded a frame and bolted it to the bottom of the frame. - downtheroadExplorerI used 8+ super heavy duty zip ties from Home Depot. ..48 inch ones that each had a tensile strength of 175 lbs. I secured them through a frame cross member under our trailer. Held perfectly for the 8 years we owned the rig.
