When I needed a curtain, I put a one inch by half inch board across the wall above the door. On the top edge I added a full width piece of fridge magnet material. We then designed the curtain with the matching fridge magnet material into the top of the curtain. The magnets have enough attraction to hold perfectly, and then we take it off and stow it when not needed. You could even put another magnet strip in the curtain half way up for partial opening.
