Gensets like Honda's EU2000i and Yamaha's EF2000iS are a different animal in that the case is not simply a pretty enclosure that makes it handy to carry but in fact is designed to route cool air in and past the engine and vent out both hot air and hot exhaust gases via the exhaust bezel. In order to properly enclose the genset one therefore can't simply blow air past the genset nor suck air out ... rather, the key is to design an exhaust system that seals tightly against the genset's existing exhaust bezel. Executed properly, one doesn't even need to use an intake fan, 'though in my own execution of this design I did, not because I had to but because I could. Pics and a couple of videos with proof of performance are here in my Honda EU2000i Gallery. Those who may prefer to not use the genset's stock bezel Generator-Line offers replacement bezels that allow venting out both hot air and hot exhaust gases.
