Once the clothes are hung on the rod, just stuff an extra bed pillow in the space between the top of the rod and the top of the cabinet. Keeps the hangers from jumping off, and it stores the extra pillow for you...
Hey quit it..... a few more practical ideas like that and I'll have nothing to post about! :W :B - Fire_InstructorExplorerOnce the clothes are hung on the rod, just stuff an extra bed pillow in the space between the top of the rod and the top of the cabinet. - DandD2015ExplorerOur closet is very small so we don't have the problem either. How about pointing the open end of the hanger toward the front on some, toward the back on the others, then tying all of the hangers together?
- instalationExplorerGreat ideas folks I'll try the stay put from Walmart and the swimming noodle let you all know what works best . GREAT SITE thanks for the tips
- LarryJMExplorer III just use one of the expanding rods like you use in cabinets to keep the contents from falling out along the top of the hangers. That prevents the hangers from coming up off the rod and falling off.
Larry - WanderlostNomad IICheap and easy method: slit a foam swimming noodle open, jam it over the top of the hangers and rod. Might need to cut a bit more out of the inner area, depending on your hanger rod's diameter.
Those swimming noodles are in use all over our TT. - mockturtleExplorer IIA clothespin clipped onto the end of the hanger hook will stop it coming off the rod.
- instalationExplorerI'm using regular wire hangers, it's not the coats , shirts etc falling off hangers it's the hangers , clothes together launching off rod,,, must be some way to hold hangers onto bar like another removable bar on top of existing rod ,clamping down hangers
- pennysmom09ExplorerWe have a large closet in the same area and can't say anything has fallen off. What kind of hangars are you using? I hang my husbands pants over the padded hangars we get from dry cleaning, and our shirts and blouses hang on the plastic hangers we get fron the store. I button the top button on DH shirts too. You can get felt lined hangers cheap and they definitely work, but they are very annoying for everyday use. I would imagine wooden clothes pins would work, clipped on the shoulder area. I must say our closet is so jammed I doubt anything can fall off!
