How to stay cool?

As the summer temperatures approach in Phoenix, Arizona, we're wondering how we'll stay cool on our weekend boondocking trips. Our truck camper has an A/C unit and we do carry a generator to use the A/C while boondocking if needed.

However, many times when we go to the mountain areas north of Phoenix, it cools off enough at night to not have to run the A/C. That being said, the heat is usually trapped inside the truck camper. Is there a good solution, like a fan that doesn't use too much battery, that we can install to create some breeze in the camper?

Our truck camper has one battery and we have no solar, so we'd like to install a fan that doesn't draw too much power.

Thanks,

Jorn

  • Install larger computer fans in the vents. 120 mm is readily available. You can even operate some on 7 volts. Power consumption is a fraction of what a conventional RV fan will be.
