I am surprised by this response since you wrote this in the OP: "After about 5 minutes it started to smoke so I shot it with my temp gun and it registered 318 degrees and a few of the led's were flickering."
I'd say that LED had a definite time limit and you reached it.

After ordering a bunch of different LED lamps from E Bay, most of them from sellers mentioned on this Forum, I can sat there's diversity in what you get. I narrowed down my choices to a few different configurations and ordered the full lot. Every LED panel installed is still functioning. My 12VDC system voltage varies up to a maximum of 14.8V.
