Our rv has two inverters/ those things you plug your cell phone into to recharge it.
That is just a 12VDC power port (cigarette lighter receptacle)
with a USB charger.
That is NOT an inverter.cruising spud wrote:
oldwizard1, you recommended a 12vdc power supply. Is this the same as an inverter?
I did not recommend a 12VDC power supply. I was just saying the most 120VAC to 12VDC converters include a battery changer. The quality of these battery chargers varies greatly.
Some 12VDC to 120VAC inverters include a battery charge. Not the small one (less than 1000W)

So,if I am correct, we can use those to charge our cell phones. But, we will need an inverter, like a Morningstar, Go Power, etc, to charge the laptops and tv????
I am not familiar with all brands of inverters. Morningstar does make a 300W pure sine wave inverter. So does Go Power. A few laptop manufacturers sell 12VDC battery chargers that you can plug into a cigarette lighter socket. It is probably easier to plug your normal 120VAC laptop charger into the same place you are going to plug your TV.
If you want to run the TV and charge your laptop at the same time, I would recommend a 500w-600W inverter like this one from Go Power
