I'd clean the heck out of the roof, coat it with that liquid rubber, and then finish with a coat of elastomeric roof paint in white. I painted my aluminum roof white and it instantly dropped the cabin temperature 10 degrees.
BTW, if you're treating the whole roof, it's a good time to remove all the nasty caulk and seal everything with Eternabond tapes. I tried the tape and it made me a believer, the stuff just sits there and seals anything I put it on. No more sealing maintenance.
