I wish they made them with a BA15S adapter so I could just plug into replace my 1141 bulbs
I searched ebay for that base, led, warm white and got 4 pages.
clicky
There is lots more in bright white including one that has 120 SMD LEDs for $5. I might just change the scare lights socket.
I think he means the ones with the double contacts on the base. I plugged in one of my single contact LED bulb and blew the fuse. I have 2 lamps, one on each side of the bed, that use 2 bulbs each with the double contacts. I have yet to find an LED bulb that would work in these lamps. Any ideas?
Could you post a image of the bulb and base it goes into?
I was thinking about this and at first thought you had a dual filament bulb like on a car, running and brake lights. The fact that you blew a fuse when shorting the two contacts makes me think the contacts are the + and - connectors and the single lead touched both and shorted it out.
YOu could always change the base if you can't find bulbs to fit.
I found this bulb on Ebay that has a double contact:

They will not arrive in time for our trip but I ordered them anyway. These are the last of the incandescent bulbs inside the RV. I am not worried about the driving lights as they are only on when the engine is running anyway.
The fixture in question has 2 bulbs in it and a 3 way switch. I think the double contact on the bulb allows the voltage to pass through allowing the other bulb to be switched on and off or work when the one burns out.
