Magnetic knife bar

Bought two of these. Mounted them above each other so both magnets hold them. We have some big heavy butcher knives and they don't move around at all. $14.99 each at IKEA.

We use one and if they fall off,,you either need to slow down or find smoother roads. The magnets are very strong.

we've had one in our 5'er for 5 years never had a knife fall & we've been over some pretty rough roads.

Bought mine at Target. knives don't move at all. The magnets are really strong.

I also bought some small 3m hooks for spoons and spatulas that have holes in the handle. My kitchen drawer space is limited.

P.S. If you feel the need to remove the knives during travel.... that might defeat the whole purpose of having this space saving rack??? Might be better to just use a drawer.

I bought some rare earth magnets from amazon and put them inside my metal stove hood. Then I just put my knives and scissors along the outside of the hood on the side closest to my sink. Works really, really well. And they have never fallen off.

I have a Truck camper and might even put my forks and spoons (3 sets) along the other side b/c I have hardly any drawer space.

I had bought a magnetic knife rack and have never installed it b/c my "cheap/quick" fix worked so well.

Thanks for all the replies. I bought one yesterday. Now I'm deciding whether or not I want to put it up. It seems to hold the knives very tightly. But, I will probably just take them down during travel time. Thanks again for the replies.

OH I agree with you Kiwi....even as much as I love mine in our 5ver I would not take the chance in a MH. Too risky for sure.

I would not have one in the open in a Class A, B or C. I am anal about sharp objects being available projectiles in a sudden deceleration situation. Inside a cabinet door is OK for me.

In TT or 5vr, I would not hesitate to use. The mags are fairly strong.

We do like and use the knife safe.
