Extra credit question. What is wrong with buying a regular 110volt washer dryer from Sears and frame it in? Is the water consumption different?

I believe the vented issue was already mentioned. The main thing wrong with a "regular" W/D is size. You will need a unit that going thru the door, around 24". Regular units are much larger. Sears does have a W/D in 110V that work fine, we have used one in two different units for 19 years.
