Like I said I'm not an expert on this, just an idiot that follows directions. But I really don't know the answer to your question.
No sure this is what your asking. On page 7 of the the manual listed above I configured the loco M2 to be a 'Station'.
Hopefully someone here that understands the difference between router and access point will chime in.
