- jeeperdude10ExplorerGot our 'roll' vinyl faux wood floor put down today. Boy, what a difference it makes in the looks!? Looks more open, larger, warmer, and neater. Wish we would've done this earlier. With this and the day/night shades being discarded and replaced, makes us feel as we have a "new" toy to enjoy!
- suprzExplorerWe have that in our basement right on top of the concrete slab. I know that slab gets colder than 55 degrees and there has been no issues with the flooring.
- readytowExplorerI had the Home Depot Allure flooring in my previous travel trailer. It went through many freezes, and hot temps, never expanded, or came apart. Nice thing about it, is the planks stick to each other, not the floor. And it is very easy to trim with a simple box knife. Thinking of doing it in the new fifth wheel also. Does give a nice warm look.
- old_idaho_guyExplorerWe will see how it does in the cold. I will keep you posted.
- jeeperdude10ExplorerNice job. We wanted to do that, but were told by a HD associate, that it is not recommended for temperatures below 55. We live in north Georgia, and it gets plenty cold up here, so we changed over to "roll/sheet" vinyl in the same wood floor look. Will be installed (hopefully) next week.
- myredracerExplorer IILooks terrific! The wood look makes an RV feel warmer and more inviting not to mention looking higher-end.
Did you make an expansion gap all around? Can't tell in the pics. Very important. When I did this in our first TT, I used 1" x 3/8" square stock and painted it to match the wall color. Is your trim to cover the expansion joint?
Did you replace the toilet foam gasket? It should be replaced any time you re & re the toilet to prevent the possibility of a leak.
Where you have floor vents, if you haven't, I would suggest making a hole larger than the screw hole so the flooring can move around. Same elsewhere where there may be screws going into the floor like the door sill for example. As the floor material moves, you don't want it to hang up on anything and pull a joint apart. - spoon059Explorer IILooks great! I really like the look of that wood pattern too. Amazing what they can do with vinyl now!
- Ron3rdExplorer IIINice work!
- old_idaho_guyExplorerYes, It went in fairly easy especially with all of the small cuts
- SinnettcExplorerIs that allure from Home Despot? We've got it down in the house and I'm very happy with it. It wears well and looks great.
