ordered a rouge wave..... Install to follow

Howdy all...

I ordered a wifi antenna and router... This piece of kit is rad. It'll be here weds... Install pics will follow. My buddies will connect to a wifi source over a mile away. It's rated at 800mw, but I got close to 1w (1000mw) from it. 920mw.

Here is the Link-a-doo-da
  • Product Description (from Amazon)
The Bullet M2 HP is a revolutionary outdoor radio device that features a signal strength LED meter for antenna alignment, a low-loss integrated N-type RF connector, and a strong and robust weatherproof design. This inline wireless access point can instantly transform any antenna into a carrier class radio system. Get the most of your WiFi through an easy setup process with the Bullet M2-HP.

If it is not for outdoors I wonder why it has a "Robust weatherproof design"
  • So boosting the transmit power on a WiFi will improve it's ability to receive signals from stations further away? Unless I'm misreading something here I find that an interesting concept.
  • Of course it's outdoor rated. It's the same unit as yours with a different label on the outside.
  • He ubiquity isn't outdoor rated... And has horrible support. Still cheaper than a ranger, with more power....
  • thats pretty expensive, I've used the alfa 1000mw and 2000mw with great results and they are only 30-35 bucks

  • That looks a lot like a Ubiquity Bullet (re-branded) $69 Bullet on Amazon plus a $30 antenna and a $14 POE power supply. Add a bracket and you have the same thing.
  • The price was actually great, seeing that the wifi ranger is a lower power unit, and doesn't have the range... His is a long term investment for me. The wife works even while we are away... My buddy has one on his boat. It's awesome.
  • If I invested that much for a WiFi antenna, I think I would go all the way and seek out WiFi code breaking technology.

The price sure turned me off. :(

You and me both. Good luck to bigcitypopo, though.
