Pex tubing.

We have a washer hook up in our fifth-wheel. We will never use it. I would like to cut and cap the pex tubing that goes to the washer hook up. That way I do not have winterize the hook up or de winterize it every year.
What is the best way to cut and cap pex tubing?

I agree with Chris, this is the best method.

Another consideration is to install a simple cutoff valve at the "T" so restoring the system would be easy. The next owner or even yourself might be appreciative of having the plumbing in place when they next need it.

  • Try to cut it off right at a junction. If there is a 15' run of pipe to a dead end one of two things will happen:
    - The antifreeze won't reach much of the pipe.
    - If you do get antifreeze in, it will slowly leech out all season long flavoring the water.

They have a cutter, it's like a pair of scissors. Or you can cut it with a Stanley knife. Cap it with a push in plug or a Sharkbite cap.
