Hi lawrosa,
Rule of thumb is watts divided by 10--so 100 amp draw. You could hook in a kill-a-watt meter and measure the actual consumed watts. It is safer to think in terms of about 34 amp-hours for a 20 minute run. One reason is as the demand goes up, the voltage at the battery bank drops.
I'd go for the 1500 watt. I'd go for a Cobra MSW as it is a well known brand and, at least in my case, was a bullet proof item that I ran HARD.
MSW may draw fewer amps, too. But the exact numbers need to be done in real life.

Only thing I would like to run is a small toaster oven. ( only to make my sons frozen pizza or chicken..
Looking at the label it says. 1000 watts. Thats 8.3 amps? So thats 83 amps 12 volt?
Can I assume the toaster with a 20 minute cook time would be less than 1/3 of that 83amps as the element cycles in that 20 minutes.
So 27 amps if it was on the whole 20 minutes.
IDK. I stink at math... lolol
Maybe Ill try the unglazed tile in the oven trick again, and maybe the new oven in the new camper will cook better..
And forget the toaster oven.
Umm but it will be nice to have toast for breakfast with eggs..
