Yesterday I installed the Camco Countertop Extension.But when I fold it down, it doesn't fold flat against the base cabinet, it sticks out at an angle.I have a countertop with an overhang, so there is ample room for it to fold flat, but the bracket binds against itself where the two bracket sections fold together.I've rechecked the instructions and all screwholes are placed exactly according to instructions and the bracket is installed correctly. Just wondering if others here have done this install and whether yours folds flat or sticks out at an angle (about 35%). And whether they was anything you did to make it fold flat. Thanks.

Did the brackets fold correctly before you mounted them?

My 2015 Excursion had one from the factory that would not fold down flat, we removed it and filled the holes with putty to match the cabinets and we have not really missed it. JH

Nope. I never wrote brackets (plural). I said "two bracket sections." There is just one bracket, but it has two sections and folds near the middle. And yes, the two sections are properly aligned and fold together fine, until you fasten the bracket to the base cabinet.

I guess it is all a moot point however. It seems like the Camco bracket is designed to NOT fold flat, which just seems silly. Now that it is installed, I guess I will live with it.

Wow, what a piece of junk. There are much better hinges available that do fold flat. I made my own using folding hinges and just assumed that a manufacturer would have used the same or similar folding hinges.

I had one of these and it did not fold flat. Worked fine where it was installed but I was a bit disappointed it didn't fold all the way either.

I thought of doing this but after seeing the You Tube Video and it shows it not folding flat I decided against it.

I thought I remember seeing in the instructional video that it doesn't actually fold all the way flat. I thought it was odd to see that. You might also check the Amazon reviews to see if others have had this problem. I was going to buy and install one but built my own removable one instead.
