You're both wrong.
The word Amp comes from the Latin root Ampidextrous, meaning two handed magic death.
50 amp service means that the invisible humor flowing through the wire has enough fresh hell to kill 50 legions of centurions.
Each leg can therefore kill 25 legions of centurions, meaning that the entire killing machine is comprised of 2 "hands" @25 Amps("legs" is a modern misinterpretation of the Latin).
The best place for all this magic is in the dark where it can't get it's bearings and attack us while we sleep. That is why we sequester it in walls where it is very dark.
