After almost getting rear-ended by someone not paying attention (I was in the far right lane), I decided to apply some self-adhesive reflective tape to the rear. Don't know if it will help, but it sure won't hurt!

No, it sure won't hurt. But I don't want my trailer looking like a construction zone. I'll take my chances without the tape and hope I don't end up in a destruction zone.There is no sure way to protect ourselves from idiots on the road. Texting while driving? Some people have been caught on camera reading a news paper while driving. :R

My take on this:If someone can't see the back of a full sized RV, then reflective tape isn't going to help...Maybe something like this on the back of our rigs...maybe.Click HERE

How about using a white color reflective tape that blends with the RV color? I use them on the inside of our car door panels. Adds a little extra safety when opening the car door on a busy street at night. Plus the tape doesn't stand out and look bad.

I like the idea of using reflective tape, but just not the construction zone colors. Reflective tape is available in various sizes and colors, and quality. That said, to me the most important thing is to make sure ALL your lights are working, and at full brightness! I see lots that are on, but so weak or dirty that they can't be seen. Good clean lights are good, clean, bright LEDs are best. Be sure and include all your clearance lights at the same time. I am beginning to see more trailers with reflective tape on each corner, especially the top corners. This gives a driver behind you a good idea of the size of your rig.

I bought silver/grey reflective tape that I used to outline the perimeter of my slides. I found that while dry camped the slides had no lights/reflective material on them so vehicles driving around us might not see the large slides. Paid $7 for 100' from an ebay seller in the Uk. I have enough left for my next 2 trailers.Daryll
