I say that somewhat tongue in cheek. My first TT, the owner had replaced the water heater himself. He was a master plumber that taught at the community college.
One of the first things I did before going on the road, filled up the water heater and lit the propane. It lit and I wandered to the other side of the trailer, came back 5 minutes later to a decent fire. shut off the propane and quickly blew out the residual fire. This genius master plumber put pipe dope ON THE COPPER flare. Not the fitting, but the actual pipe flare, AND failed to tighten the nut all the way.
