Unless the hole is enlarged you should be able to reuse the same hole. If it is enlarged then there are many ways to deal with it. You can get some golfing tees, tap one into the hole, cut it off flush drill a pilot hole and put in a new screw. One variation is to coat the tee with epoxy before tapping it in. I've heard of people using wooden matchsticks the same way but it seems to me that the wood used in matches is inferior to golf tee wood.
You can also fill the hole with epoxy either gel or epoxy putty and when it sets drill a new pilot hole. You can use wood filler, bondo makes some that sets quickly but it comes in a large container. Much more that you'll need.
