I'm really like the Smart Tile of the OP and the other ideas I'm seeing.. having said that, I don't think I can afford the Smart tiles, and it doesn't come in the funky retro color I'm looking for either. I'm considering fabric or decorative paper with the colors/pattern I want and I will then put Plexi Glass over it.
I hope you take before and after photos... sounds like another really neat idea !
