I've used that backerboard before. works fine. It is, though, kinda designed for a thinset product which I wouldn't use unless you like replacing tiles after every move. The flexing and hammering that go on during a trip to the next state, I think, would be substantial.
You need to use a mastic. Talk to your tile guy about additives that make it less attractive to mold.
Look into glass tile. I think you'll like it. That stuff you've chosen is too masculine. It will not withstand the test of time. Too dark and Heafner-y. You can have that basic color scheme without looking like a member of the Skull and Bones.
