If you plan on continuing the tiles around the corner I would just remove the furring for a smooth surface. Usually all it does is cover up a seam and you will be doing that. The strips are usually just stapled on so easy to remove. Sometimes you may have to cut along the edge with a knife if it is caulked. I would recommend holding on to the strip you remove. You may need it elsewhere sometime, and matching material is hard to find. Good luck
Yes, I am. Thank you. I wasn't sure wether to remove it or just run the tiles up to the edge of it. It is not caulked, so hopefully it will come off easily.
