Ok, finished today. Not sure if I am thrilled with it or not. Should be interesting to see how it holds up. Today there were already some of the little strips I used to fill in spots that seemed to be coming up. Time will tell. If it doesn't work, guess I can put up a stainless steel splash.
Nice looking job! I am jealous - I did not get to it today since I was home taking advantage of the cooler weather today due to a passing "cold front" to work on the car. We expect temps to go back to the 90's this week.
If the only problem is the stips coming off and you like how they look I would stick them down with something stronger.
