NEITHER ONE - as I posted you need a solar controller. And the wiring from the controller to the battery should be balanced and neither one of your diagrams is balanced. Moving the - wire for option 1 to the right hand - battery post would be balanced.
Controller is a no brainer JUST think of my diagram as the controller wires Now what is your answer
