Also, my initial install did not have a controller and the batteries were being over charged. When I added a second 100 watt panel this spring, the tech must have hooked up the controller wrong and I was still overcharging the batteries. The problem was that these were now 4 brand new Interstate GC2s.
I junked the cheap controller they put in and got a Grape Solar 40 amp controller and things are now working great.
