Some interior mods on my rig

This is my first shot at posting some photos. They are just addresses above my typing now and I hope they turn to pics when I click "submit". When we got the trailer there was really no storage for a week long romp out in the wilderness. There was a pantry that had two shelves with a lot of cubic feet but no real way to store any of the week long necessities. So I filled the Pantry up with drawers. There was no storage in the bathroom so I built the shelf you see to the left of the sink. The dining area was constantly full of paper plates, fruit, plastic ware etc. So I built a set of shelves very similar to the one in the bathroom. Difference is this was the second set of shelve so I was able to tailor it a little better to our needs. The one in the bathroom was a little more "shoot from the hip" as my wife wasn't really on board and didn't really have a vision of what the idea was. These three mods really helped. I did some other little "tinker" mods to clean up the cabinets where the wheel wells are. If these photos "take" I will post some more photos with explanations.
  • where did you get the slide out gadgets and if I may ask how much
  • The drawer guides came from Home Depot. They were like $12.00 a pair. Someday I may remove those and install some that are more like the ones the Creek Side trailer came with. The roller guides on the trailer's drawers are real high quality and much more durable. I did a pretty good job of fastening some wood to the inside of the cabinet to screw the drawer guides to, but I fear the weight of the goods in the two larger drawers may cause the light weight guides I installed to give up the ghost! I think it would be a easy swap.
  • I did something very similar in our pantry. Yes you do loose a slight amount of storage space, but the upside of being able to get to stuff far far outweighs this slight downside. In my case I used full extension ball bearing slides side mounted. one of the best mods yet IMHO and in DW opinion as well
  • Nice work, the drawer construction is excellent. Yeah, you could replace those cheap guides with better ones.
  • Great job! I had built similar drawers for my wife's kitchen cabinets. I've been intending to add some to our motorhome also. Thanks for the motivation! I'll get out and do it now! I'll add the suggestion to spend the extra money and use the 'self-closing' tracks as the first inch or so of outward travel is 'stiff' as that is when the self closing mechanism is getting 'cocked' for the self-close feature. My thought is that this will lessen the chance of a loaded drawer pushing the cabinet door open and possibly spilling the contents as I turn a corner.

Yeah, I'm gonna change them with the nice one pictured above. Just worried that I'm gonna stop for coffee one day and find all the goodies on the floor.
