Springdale Remodel

Well here's the start of the remodel on my 2005 Keystone Springdale 295BHL. We bought it in October and are full-timing since our move from NYC. It's almost as big as our apartment in Manhattan, LOL! We wanted to be able to heat the place on electric and I fell in love with a wall-mounted electric fireplace at Costco. Problem was, there wasn't a big enough wall to mount it (or our TV) on so we modified the wall into the bedroom.

My phone died so I lost the in process pics but we basically opened up the wall on the left side and re-framed it 48" wide (instead of 24") with 2x3's and re-skinned the living room side with 1/8" hardboard. Still have some trim work and a mantle to add but it's working well as is till we figure out what we want.
  • Nice job! Looks really good. Hope it gives you he heat you want.
  • Nice!
I have the same location in my TT but I don't think my wall is as wide. I have more than enough depth though.
I'll have to check them out.
  • Thanks! I had to bump the wall out an extra 2 feet and consequently lost it out of the doorway but we're both pretty skinny, lol. I might end up removing or shortening the wall on the right hand side. I don't want to lose the storage of the cabinet by the door though. Total cost
for materials to modify the wall was under $10 at Home Depot.

  • The other thing we've been working on is painting the cabinets.

  • Thanks, I'm liking it quite a bit. Now if I could just decide on a color for the walls...
  • Those cabinets have me thinking about painting mine. Nice work.
