Surge protector

My display is in a cabinet. When I open the cabinet door I can see it when I Iook through the back window. My shore power plug is located in the rear so I check it right away. Then I close the cabinet door until the next time I'm curious.

Mine is mounted inside a cabinet door, where it doesn't shine out into the RV. If I need to read it, I open the door.

I have to wonder if mounting it outside could be a potential problem with the humidity there which could lead to corrosion of the switch and plug/jack.

I like mine where I can see it inside the coach. If the power goes off I can immediately check it to see what the problem is. I also like to be able to see how many amps the coach is using. Mine is mounted above the utensil draw in the galley faces the exterior door so I can check it when I go inside after hooking up.

Mounted ours above the inverter, fuse panel, just inside the door. I can simply look in after hook up, plus I can see it when sitting at the table.

Never bothers me when I sleep... I sleep with my eyes closed (apperantly others do not). Besides, what is one more light after the spots, awning lights, porch light, LED under the trailer, and tiki torches are left lit :B

I do NOT believe they are designed to be exposed to weather, so YES you would need to install a weather-proof housing.

Mounted ours in the entertainment compartment with the TV, I can see it from my recliner. :)

After the initial connection to the campground power supply, you really don't need to see the display that much, and, as posted above,it is very bright.

Mine is mounted in the storage bay where the surge protector & transfer switch are mounted. I use a cheap plug in voltage display for inside viewing of the voltage. The surge protector will protect your rig.

We mounted ours next to the breaker box and CO detector.

Mine is mounted inside by the door down low next to the fuse panel.
Generally I like it out of sight as the constant flashing display is annoying to have in plain view.
I wish the display would stay on solid in on place. A button to scroll would be better. If it went to sleep even better.
