And I appreciate opinions, so Thank You everyone. I've tried to lay out my reasons for wanting to "think" about this..mainly because I have a perfectly good spare air conditioner getting in my way in the garage.
I just happen to disagree about the about the air flow issue, sorry. My Carrier air has vents all the way around the shroud and at 50-60 MPH, I'm sure it would still provide sufficient air flow but I agree that it would act as a barrier to the stream lined flow of air front to back. And on that note....I think I'll just go back to picking up a smaller foot print unit and place it exactly where I want it.
