I did not want to be limited to the sprayer only working when the toilet is flushed. So, instead of snipping the tip off the hose barb on the flush valve I added a tee in the toilet line with 2 valves between the tee and the sink sprayer I bought. The first valve is to throttle the water flow so I can adjust the flow to suit. I have too much flow and pressure when on city water and get a lot of splash back from the bowl and get a little splash back when on the pump. The second valve is the shut off valve only. I do not rely on leaving the pressure on the sprayer at all times so I turn the valve on when using and shut it off when done.
I also added another shut off valve between the tee and toilet. I had a leaking flush valve that needed replacing. There was a lot of water around the toilet and no way to shut it off. That won't happen again.
