Trim work in RV any suggestions

OK, finish work...what's the secret. I'm running some wooden trim. I cut on the line and saw blade leaves splinters that fray and looks bad. I'm using a fine tooth saw blade. Some splinters still. If I cut maybe an 1/8 back and then file with fine tooth file takes me forever. I want good looking tight joints, what's the secret?

How do you guys do it?

  • What Don said - I've also had good results by wrapping the trim with masking tape at the cut point (you have to make your measurement and mark on top of the tape) before cutting. Helps control splintering on both sides and the masking tape is easily removed.
  • Back side up. If your trying to cut with the finish side up, turn it over.
