Turned dresser into a desk

With going on a year+ long trip where I need to work a 9-to-5 full-time from the camper, I needed a proper desk that supported dual monitors, an ergonomic keyboard, and a mouse. It also had to be in my bedroom because the family are everywhere else and I need a quiet space to take phone calls and just work. Being that it was in my bedroom, it had to stow quickly and easily so that we can get around.

I wrote a full set of build pictures and comments on my blog:

Here are a few of the pictures:

Turned that into drawings (one set of the existing dresser- top/front views; one set of the desk added- top/front views):

Committed it to wood:

  • Thanks, Heish. It's been working out well. I have a few things that I'd change if I could (softening corners more and the height of the riser for the monitor). But, coming up on 2 months now and it's been great.
  • Thanks, Calicajun. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and am very pleased with it. Some of my initial concerns haven't been too bad.
