Update on Jack Antenna install

Well i finally got to install my Jack Antenna yesterday. Install was simple, the only issue i had was a loose solder connection, which i fixed myself, although i wasn't happy i had to do that! Anyway after i got it working i scanned for all available channels. Came up with 73!!!! Never was i able to get more than 8 and half of those were blocky! Keep in mind i'm only about 35 miles from downtown chicago, but at the same time i could not get some of the major Chicago stations. When i was out some where i couldn't get any stations.

Glad i spent the $45 on it.

You obviously replaced a broken antenna. A working Batwing will easily match that

With the Jack® you'll lose most of your VHF-hi stations and ALL of your VHF-low stations.

And what would those be? I have all the same stations now that used to be around before digital! I have the stations that i've always known as VHF and UHF. Not missing any.

As for a broken batwing, then it was broken since day one, and my buddy's has also been broken then since 06 ( when he bought his trailer new). He doesn't get any either.

Congrats on the successful install. I am going to look at the Jack today, I'm getting tired of the raise and lower routine. I need to lube it again and the DW doesn't want me to get up on the roof. I'm going to get the DB to do the roof part.

    Thanks for the update.

  • The Jack antenna is lighter than the Winegard thus easier to raise.
