Upgrade propane regulator

I didn't like the regulator that came standard with my Coachman camper.

Replaced it with this one with a Red/Green (yes, just like my hero from PBS :) )indicator to tell me my tank was empty.
We turn both tanks on, let the furnace run at night .
When one tank empties it switches automatically (hence the name ,auto switchover regulator )to the other tank.
No more 2AM trips in my pajamas in the rain or freezing cold to open the other tank or guessing if the other regulator had switched tanks and making that 2AM trip to find both tanks empty :(
Simply check in the morning for red in the little window.
If you see the red you have plenty of time to refill the empty.
One less worry !

These regulators are available at RV stores Camping World and LP suppliers.

  • Cause he needs to replace that pigtail
Worm gear clamps are not recommened for high pressure LP systems.
  • I gotta' ask, why do you have a hose with two hose clamps?
  • I like it.

We only have the one standard tank for the BBQ, but I put a gage from HF on it so someone other than me could see how much gas was left.

Unfortunately the newer ones from HF restrict the flow way too much so I can no longer recommend them.
