I always dry camp the boondocker does a much better job than the wfco ever did. Always starts up @ 14.8v

I went the PD route as well and VERY happy with it.

One warning to all, the unit came with the red (+) and white (-) output wires already installed in the lugs so I never thought to check them. Went about two years and all of a sudden no 12v output from my inverter. Took me two tries to find the problem but they had stuffed the wire in too far and the setscrews were into the insulation, not the wire, worked O.K. if they were really tight but when they loosened up a bit there was no more contact. Restripped the wires and all is good.

I talked to Randy and ended up with a Powermax main board 55a 4 stage. So far so good.

I replaced my WFCO converter with a PD unit, and I've been very happy. My WFCO converter was noisy, and was eating my betteries up. I never hear the new PD unit, and it's a very simple install into the existing WFCO distribution panel. Since I leave my trailer plugged in all the time when home, I wanted a smart charger to extend the life of my house battery.

I would not WFCO route pull the old unit and install the PD series converters. I have had to much trouble with the WFCO ones. Installed the PD one three years ago and not one problem

I don't know if i would go with the WFCO products or not. I am speaking from past experiences we all have had with those not going into smart mode charging when we think they should. Maybe all of that has been fixed or maybe Randy has a whole warehouse full of WFCO products to get rid of..

The WFCO product sure has had alot of problems in the past... I love the WFCO Power Distribution Centers but have replaced their converter/chargers here with the PD9200 series units.

Just be aware of the not too distant past history of using the WFCO smart mode converters...

My PD9200 series smart mode converter/charger starts out in 14.4VDC charge mode everytime I turn it on and then drops back to the proper mode when it senses my battery state of charge. I can always force the PD9200 series converter into any smartmode charging mode with the push of a button.

Thanks for the input. I spoke with Randy at Bestconverters and he recommends going with the WFCO WF8945-REP Ultra III Conversion Kit Converter Charger 45 Amp. Guess I'll do that.

Like Roy above, I installed the PDI9260 and have had great service from it.
