If you do not use a Surge Guard to protect your rig, I would say that it may be better to look at a good quality power bar with USB built in instead. Watch the cheap ones, they often do not have a breaker/fuse in them or have a very low joule rating, they are nothing more than a fancy splitter. Spend a few dollars on a good quality power bar that has a few 2A USB plugs and at least 1000 joules protection in it as well. Ya it is not as clean looking, but it will at least minimize/prevent you from losing any expensive electronics due to a surge and does not require the work of putting in a gang.
