Which vent pipe is the Black Tank?

Greetings. We would like to install a Cyclone RV Holding Tank Vent on the black tank to hopefully reduce black tank odors.

The problem is on our roof, the black tank and the grey tank vents are identical in appearance and side by side, within inches of each other

Is there a way to easily identify which one is the Black tank vent?

I proposed that my DW crawl up there and sniff each one, but that ain't happening!

Just tell the DW to stop being a baby. RV'ing is a team hobby.

How I did mine. The tank was empty. I put a few cups of Pinesol in the black tank, wedged the toile valve open and aimed a small fan down the toilet.
Went up on the roof and the pipe with the strong Pinesol smell coming out was the one that got the cyclone.

    Smart!

No more than they cost, put one on each pipe.

I am afraid the they are too close to each other and would interfere with each other.

If you want to send me $20.00 I will try it. LOL
  • In my case, I found that the source of odor was not the black tank. It was the gray tank. I put the vane on my gray tank and took care of odors while driving.

  • From the roof run some water down either vent pipe then see which tank it goes into.
