10' Kayak onfiver Ladder-Need Ideas!!!

Like I said above I put the kayak in my open range for the first time last night. Carried it in by myself. Tried it in the livingroom. Not quite enough room when the big slide went in. Unless I can talk the wife into leaving one of the kitchen chairs at home. Next location was the kingsize bed. That works. I asked the wife for some old blankets to keep it from rubbing on some woodwork and she suggested tying it down to the bed. Got out a ratchet strap, lifted the bed (storage under the sheet of plywood), ran the strap under the plywood, positioned the kayak so it can not touch anything and strapped it down tight. By using the strap I was able to leave part of the kayak overhang out into the bathroom where there is nothing to touch.
