11' garage and 12'6" kayak, will it fit?

Edit: problem solved. Thanks everyone!

Just looking for conformation that with the normal stuff attached inside the garage (happy jack bed and sofas) that a kayak that is 12' 6" long can be angled in the garage that is listed at 11" long. The model toy haulers I'm looking at have overhead cabinets/loft towards the front of the garage but nothing below so there is a little room for some upward angling as well. Is this a realistic expectation?

  • Found a nifty triangle calculator and found I can put the rear (stern)of the kayak against the back left corner of the garage and angle the nose (bow) 28* to the right and it will have to be about 6' away from the left wall. All this assuming the kayak was as thin as a straight single line.... but these garages are almost 8' wide inside right? Should fit easy peasy?
  • The diagonal measurement of an 8'W x 11'L rectangle is 13.6' (13'7")

    IF height is 8 foot then diagonal measurement from bottom corner to opposite top corner is 15.7' (15'8")

    AC= sqrt(AB^2 + BC^2)------Square root of (8x8 + 11x11)----13'7"
    AD= sqrt(AC^2 + CD^2)------Square root of (13.6x13.6 + 8x8)---15'8"

    With overhead cabinets you lose at lot of diagonal length
    With jack bed/sofa .....may be a obstruction
    12'6" MIGHT fit

    Take a 25' tape measure and measure distance from top corner under overhead cabinets to opposite bottom corner
