...to retirement and then the question will finally be answered. How well built is our Sierra & 5'er? (See Sig) Cause we're planning on running'em both long & hard. First trip leaving out on April 4th you ask??? Nova Scotia via Oklahoma, Idaho, Montana, New York, Maine, and then the month of August in Nova Scotia. We'll decide in Sept 2014 where we'll go from Nova Scotia. Probably south!!!:BHappy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!:)

Early congrats to you! Maine to Nova Scotia is a great ride. Just for your information they are restarting ferry service from Portland Maine to Yarmouth NS next year. Safe travels!

Congrats on your upcoming retirement. My DW retired last year, and I'm 74 days away myself. We put our $$ on a new TV, but we're going to continue running with our 08 Keystone Cougar piece of Junk. Fortunately, most everything has broken on it so many times that I'm an expert at replacing most everything in it.Our first long trip next year will be to visit my dad in Maine, then we'll probably head up to Nova Scotia to sight-see.

Congrats. We too are 106 days away from retirement. 72 work days left. Bought new 5er in April this year getting ready. Have so many places we want to go. Have not set any firm plans yet.Dan

I have 227 days until retirement as of this morning. We have a similar plan of hitting the road for about 3 months right after I retire. Maybe we will see you on the road.

Travel slow and be safe. Take time to enjoy the journey as well as the destinations. :B

Don't feel too bad Joe. I just figured out that when I retire in November, I've been at the same company for 10,846 days! Add another 5000 to that before I even started there.

Congrats! I'm also a little over 100 days away myself.

We bought a new TV this spring. The TT's doing great so we'll probably keep it a couple years yet before moving up to a 5er. Plan on several trips each year, measured in weeks instead of days. We'll criss-cross the US several times over the coming years without set end times, God willing...it will be fun!

Travel hard? No way, we've been fulltiming for 7 years and plan a big trip every other year, like CA across to FL then up the coast to Niagra Falls in a 6 month time period. It's a lot more fun & interesting if you slow down, travel less than 250 a day and travel on the 2 lane highways. Plan for maintenance & repair costs, get a discount card like Passport America and have fun!

Congrats, sounds like you have a great plan. I retired unexpectedly 10 years early, but it's still been worth it. I just wish I'd started saving 10 years before I did. But, better short of cash than short of time.
