We bought a 32 ft alfa ideal in late 98 but it was the first 99 model to hit Tacoma. We looked at the golds and they were so much nicer on the interior wood trim but a ton more money. We just wanted to buy for 2 years and then decide what we wanted. My cousin has a 2001 alfa gold and has full timed in it for years but sitting now in one spot. Basement AC has been a problem for some but we didn't have any issues for our 2 years. You might be getting a good deal as others have said for problems because of age.
Not much quality in the new fifths so it might not be fun buying new either.
The proof is sitting across the street from us for a poor quality unit that was new last year.
