- donn0128Explorer IIAs I remember, Alfa was wood framed. They slapped sruff together with litrle regard to quality. From past experiences, and meaning no disrespect, engineer types have a lot of book learning, but little practical knowledge or real common sense.
If you want it, and there are ZERO signs of leaks, go for it. Just be prepared to double or triple your investment fixing stuff to make it road worthy. - desertratt1ExplorerHi,
Thanks for the reply. This gentlemen is a perfectionist and takes excellent care of everything he owns. he is engineer so though i have not looked at it i no how he is so doubt any issues with leaks. Why did alpha have a non stellar reputation? are they aluminum framed construction? Having hard time finding any info.
Thanks
Rick - donn0128Explorer IIAlfa did not have a stellar reputation, but at that age that is probably unimportant. What is important is condition and any signs of water damage or leaks. My guess at that price there is going to be water damage. If so, it is likely not worth even that price. Cost of repairs can mount really fast, even for a really handy person. Not to mention the chances of serious mold issues making it unlivable.
