1999 glendale teavelaire T220

Hey everyone!! New guy here, I am looking at a 1999 glendale travelaire 5th wheel. Got some questions about quality and length. It says it's 22 ft long. The guy says it is 22 ft from front to back, I thought these were measured as living space with the bed area as an extra measurement. Unfortunately I am not around to measure it myself other wise I would. Does anyone have one of these trailers that could help me out with some measurements and quality of these things?
  • Thanks for the input guys. Iv heard that the travelaire glenaire was a pretty good quality trailer even in the older models, can anyone verify this? Currently I have a 2003 okanagen eclipse and it has been a really good trailer. I want one with the same or better build quality and reliability this one has given me over the yeats
  • Welcome to the forum!

NADA spec says 23', so the model number T220 is close. Often times, with older model FWs, the model number was close to OAL. As time went on, not so much, and you are correct, in more recent years, may be 5' or more longer than indicated.

Older FWs are not usually a good match, for the height of modern trucks. You don't want to be towing, what looks like a rocket launcher.

Buying a 20+ year old RV can be a learning experience! Close inspection, will help decide if good/bad experience.

  • At 23 years old it’s all about the maintenance…particularly the roof. Inspect closely or, if you are unfamiliar with RVs, get a pro inspection. Push on the sides…inside and out. Run every system for a good time. Crawl underneath with eye protection and a strong flashlight. Check tire manufacturer dates.
