2005 Jayco Designer - Some Questions

Hello,
I'm new to these forums, but thought I would post and ask if anyone has any advice/thoughts about the Jayco Designer (2005 35 CLQS). I have a few questions:

1) Does anyone have the specs for it - particularly insulation? I can't seem to find them online, and the Jayco archive page doesn't seem to be working.

2) We are considering buying a 2005, which is obviously already 8+ years old. The other option is a new mid-range fiver, something like a Laredo or a Cougar. I realize that the Designer is a better quality camper to start with, but would you buy one that old?

3) Does anyone have a 2005 Jayco, and how do you like it - what do you like/not like?

We are considering using it for traveling for a few weeks at a time, but not full-timing. (Yes, we have enough truck to pull it - Dodge 3500 dually diesel, with a 4.10 axle).

Thank you in advance for your comments/advice!

  • We've got the '04 in our sig and love it. I haven't had any problems with it, perform the usual maintenance. It is still very solid. We've been very happy with it.
  • You may want to check out this site for Jayco owners. You can send me a PM if you have any other specific questions.

  • I am actually sitting in it in a campground right now. The 35CLQS was the floor model that we really liked. We bought it a little over a year ago and use it weekends and winters in Florida. We wouldn't change a thing as we tend to sit in the kitchen area quite a bit and with all the accessories we have, we can stop anywhere and not need any hookups. It is well built as Jayco's usually are and well insulated so that camping in relatively cold weather is fine. If the floor plan is what you are looking for then I would go for it. You can see the rig on my profile. Good luck and enjoy.
